Dracula's Party- Halloween Children's Musical - Kingston RI -October 30

Well it may not be Dancing with the Stars on Halloween but the musical production  of 'Dracula'sDracula's Party Kingston RI October 30 Party' for children of all ages is being performed at the Fine Arts Center at the University of Rhode Island today, October 30th, at 4 pm in Kingston RI. Yes, it's about the king of vampires and based on the book by Robert Tyler.  The URI professor Gibbs who is the composer and pianist for this musical knew the author well and has put a number of the author's poems into musical numbers.

The telling story is about how trick or treaters who come to Count Dracula's house on Halloween find that it is full of scary creatures and children from past Halloweens  who have been turned into creatures by the Count.  So this story is to capture the moment and ensuing happenings at Dracula's home.  Orchestra and and singing  by players will make a wonderful afternoon of entertainment for families in southern RI.

Credit truly needs to be given to URI professor Geoffrey Gibbs for composing the original score to this wonderful Halloween production.  This musical as had many forms in past years with the South County Children's Theater doing the original play over 20 years ago for the Southern RI communities.  This is a winning combination of actors and songs to make this holiday memorable.

Preceding the musical  a host of children's Halloween activities at the Fine Arts Center will be underway.  Starting at 1 pm from pumpkin carving, face painting, a haunted fun house and all are welcome to come in costume to the musical!  Dracula's Party production will start following the other activities at 4 p.m.  so come and enjoy the fascination of this Halloween Children's Musical in Kingston RI on October 30th
