Blizzard of December 2010 Rhode Island Style

It's the blizzard of December 2010 Rhode Island style and it's right here upon us...you can't even make it out thered doors front door of my home without lead shoes on when that Northeast wind comes at you at 70 miles an hour! No matter - the grill is set up for when the power goes out for the johnnycakes, the Autocrat coffee syrup will be put into a warm cup of milk and what would RI eats be without marshmallow fluff and peanut butter sandwiches?!

snowThis is true down home and dirty RI food preparation when a December blizzard of this force comes barreling at you.  In preparation for the no power scenario... any good North Kingstown realtor should be well prepared...besides milk and bread which is a Rhode Islander's no brainer (we laugh about it here but that's what Rhode Islanders do in a storm is buy all the milk bread on the shelves) for this kind of weather. By the way, Johnnycakes are made from RI corn meal into little cooked pancakes smothered then with butter or maple syrup, hmm, hmm! Nothing like those little pancakes sticking to your ribs, Marshmallow fluff creme on peanut butter is a eating staple here along with autocrat coffee syrup (rhode islanders' believe in coffee flavored anything and not chocolate!). All food preserves on site.

The house feels like its ready to fly off it's foundation with this blizzard of 2010...well of course, i'm the
ginny of snowoz why wouldn't it today...that northeast wind comes directly at my house on the hill right off the water with an amazing force. The howling wind noise (truthfully I haven't heard the sounds like this in the 5 years I have lived here) is actually so loud right now it's amazing how I'm even thinking about the real estate work schedule for the week.  That's why I'm working at my other passion and that is good cooking.

It's rallying the troops to dig out all the house listings which will be no small feat, task wise.  Okay, got a call that one of the humongous maple trees has fallen down across the only road into our neighborhood...I hope it is just one tree.  It may be the blizzard of December 2010 Rhode Island style but it still is all about real estate, mobility and food today!
