Now knowing local businesses and what they bring to real estate in the town of North Kingstown is part of my expertise and doing my real estate business well. Many commercial businesses have been severely hurt by this recession. So it is important to recognize the local businesses that bring jobs to North Kingstown and help sustain as well as add to the local economy. Seven Moons is doing just that.
This restaurant is a location destination to tantalize any diner's palate that enjoys Asian cuisine. In fact the name 'Seven Moons' refers to the 7 types of East Asian cuisine on their extensive menu: Chinese, Thai, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Laotian & Japanese! It's a mouthful and just so good.
A credit to the partnership of Leang and Nathalie Hong who began Seven Moons almost 6 years ago in a location where a multitude of restaurants had been before them. They have the award winning formula which is a combination of many things I believe. Ever constant owners who work long hours, have an excellent staff of 100 or so employees, great food, great value for their food, cleanliness a top priority, attention to customer service and a management style that works to keep the restaurant humming like a fine tuned automobile. Their chefs have stayed with them since the beginning of the restaurant's opening and the turnover of staff is minimal which adds to why the cuisine is consistent and brings diners back week after week.
Since in my college years I waitressed at many restaurants that lacked clean standards (stories I could tell) so when we discussed the Hong's style of keeping things clean at the restaurant I was amazed at their process. They built the kitchen so it could be hosed down every evening after the kitchen closed from ceiling to floor! The major cleaning goes on as soon as the restaurant closes throughout and then again it is checked, dusted and cleaned one more time in the morning prior to opening. Impeccable standards these two restauranteurs maintain.
Seven Moons is nearly 10,000 square feet with 3 bars ( 2 for drinks and their sushi bar), dining rooms on all sides of the building and seating about 300 people at one time. They are open 7 days a week serving lunch (except on Sundays) and dinner. A menu that is several pages (it's huge with choices) to include all the Asian dishes you could want. They have an incredible take out business, too (phone: 401-885-8383). Party reservations are accepted also.
Now my barometer indicator of recovering from a recession is how the local businesses are doing and especially the restaurants and Seven Moons is no exception. Recently my party of four had a half hour wait for a table the restaurant was so jamming on a Friday night. But since they have a great waiting room and huge cocktails (I mean huge!) we sipped away until our table was available. Again the businesses who will thrive in North Kingstown RI and surrounding towns will be the ones who deliver on quality, price, service and quantity. Obviously, I'm not the only one thinking this way...my feeling is unless the food is great I don't want to frequent a restaurant - I'll cook for my guests at home but Seven Moons does outdo me.
I asked what the favorite menu items of clients are: Nime Chow, Pad Thai Noodle and Crispy chicken wings! Believe it or not they serve over 300,000 people a year in their restaurant. Oh, and you will pay for white rice here unlike other asian restaurants but there is a difference as Nathalie explained to me....they buy and serve white Jasmine rice which is of a higher quality rice for their customers. They set the standard on good rice they believe. Good value all around.
