Do You Have a Fire in Your Belly?

Do you have a fire in your belly?  Realtors have the passion for selling...selling right?  But what do you really sell - the clients' homes or yourself in this era of tighter home buying and right price home selling?

fire pit in north kingstown ri

I personally like this phrase whatever you do in life both personal and business.  The expression is first known from Robert Louis Stevenson putting it in print... derived from the pot belly stoves that were poked for flames & heat...perhaps but I think the more important part of this is the fire that inspires you to do the best job possible in your work.

And for potential clients - how attuned are you to cutting to the chase to KNOW what is the truth you need to dish out in this wild real estate market?  Again you really must do your pricing homework for your sellers as well as your buyers in order to sell or buy well.

Or are you a 'Yes' person in your business dealings, a middle of a roader or someone who tells the clients exactly how it is (with all due respect, being knowledgeable about the market makes the savvy difference here)?

Does how badly you want a listing overtake your ability to price a property properly just 'TO LIST' and showcase your sign in a neighborhood?

Doing business with 'the fire in the belly' is what sets the best agents apart from the mediocre ones.  If you are doom in gloom with your associates how do you present yourself to your clients when you step out of the office?  If you are in this real estate business to make a living, be an advocate for home ownership, and make clients your best referral base, fire up your practices and your knowledge base.

I just had a buyers' agent, who had not apparently done their homework on home sold prices,  present an offer and again I heard the realtor say to me 'well it is all they can afford' so can't you make it work.  Well my clients are so pleased you are not representing them...you can not be even adequate to represent your clients if you do not take the time to learn, discover, digest and put in practice the good principles of real estate Know How 101!  Get with it please...Put that fire in your belly and have it pay off with more listings, buyers and well contented clients now and in the future.  Stoke the flames....do you have a fire in your belly?
