South County Balloon Festival | Kingston RI 02881 | July 20-22, 2012. It is one of the top twenty
summer events, as noted in Yankee magazine, so do not miss out on this great localevent. The balloon festival is located on the University of RI campus off of Route 138 in Kingston RI. South Kingstown is the town that is hosting this annual event and is a great Rhode Island real estate town to explore, live in and enjoy too.
The events not only include the famous hot air balloons in all their splendor but live music, racing pigs, kite flying, carnival rides & games, trapeze acts, crafts, food, petting zoo and more.
Even with the heat this weekend this South County Balloon Festival will draw thousands to it. The Wakefield Rotary Club is the sponsor as part of their generous fund raising activities for the local community. They have raised over $1 million over the years for charitable giving projects. This is a tremendous effort by all, so come out to support and enjoy this wonderful event.
Admission: $10/adult, $5/kid or $25 for a family.

Friday 4-9 p.m.
Saturday 6 a.m.-9 p.m.
Sunday 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

Ginny, Hot air balloons AND racing pigs? Now I think you've got something for everyone :) Hot air balloons are certainly cool to watch and suspect I'd be laughing so hard at the pigs that I'd hurt a rib! Bill

Ginny even though I am not fond of heights, I have always wanted to go up on one of those balloons.
We so want to do a balloon ride here and haven't put the pieces together for it to happen yet. Another item on the bucket list Ginny! The pig race has already been checked off. Have a blast at the festival!
