Hurricane Preparedness | RI Tree Services | Silver Leaf Forestry. No time for chatter when hurricane season is
upon us- it is that time for Hurricane Preparedness. Yes. cutting down trees near and around your home, garage and business is a must and part of storm preparation.
In Rhode Island real estate the experience of Tropical Storm Irene caused enough damage and inconvenience nearly a year ago! Time does fly but memories regarding this storm will not for most Rhode Islanders. Being without power & water for days was stressful enough.
Well I was standing near a rather large tree yesterday that is way too close to my client’s home…I dialed 401.529.8558 for my client and she is talking to John at Silver Leaf Forestry. This tree needs to come down now she said to him! I am not waiting for any hurricane or tropical storms to hit my property!

Morning Ginny I really would not like or enjoy tree cutting. So many things can go wrong and standing on a limb is just not for me.
What a sart and timely post, Ginny. This is a wonderful endorsement for Silver Tree Forestry which I'm sure will come in handy for many in Rhode Island.
Timely reminder. I always suggest this to buyers when they buy a house with wooded lot.
In some of the subdivisions in our area it is not allowed to cut down trees without the HOA's first approval.
I have seen trees that overhang the street and a UPS truck would come by and hit the limbs. Live Oaks Trees are almost sacred in the area.
Ginny: Smart planning to take care of any rogue trees before the inevitable storms hit.
Hi Ginny,
I did tree servicing a long time ago. Not a job for the faint hearted to say the least.
Have a great day and thanks for the hurricane advice.
Best, Clint McKie
Good morning Ginny -
I really never thought about Hurricane Preparedness. It makes perfect sense to get those RI Tree trimmed and cut. A good post and shout out to the RI Tree Services and Silver Leaf Forestry. Better to be safe than sorry.
Ginny I can't believe that almost a year has gone by since Irene. I can still feel the cold showers, and the cold sleepless nights.
Ginny, always good to call John at Silver Leaf for all your trees needs. Better him to get high on that ladder than you!
Ginny – great information and Silver Tree Foresty are the people to call when it's time to trim back the trees. Years ago my grandfather decided he could do this himself. He was hit by the branch he was cutting, it knocked him out of the tree and he broke his ankle. This all could have been avoided if he'd called a professional!
Ginny ~ I'd not have known about the importance of trimming trees before a hurricane without reading your post. This is great information for homeowners in RI and surrounding areas. Stay safe!
Hi Ginny,
Very good advice and information for all homeowners in your area. It's always best to be prepared for anything. This is a great post, keep up the good work as a top North Kingstown short sale agent!
Great reminder Ginny. Timely for the hurricane season. It is always good to be prepared. Nice post.
Have you felt anything from Isaac as far north as your place? From the looks of the photos at Dagny's party, I'm thinking that you did not.
